The stone carpet, the miracle product
The stone carpet is a floor covering based on natural marble or quartz stone aggregates that will give your various outdoor spaces a design, comfortable and mineral aesthetic, while guaranteeing your safety and comfort.
Also draining, it responds to the challenges of soil permeability for individuals and professionals alike.
The wide range of marble colors will allow you to enhance and adapt your terrace to its environment and the authentic style of your home. The colors Coquillage (an off-white marble) or Désert (a mixture of off-white and beige) are the best sellers on the pool deck, both because they heat up very little in the sun and also because they gives your pond a beach effect.
A price in the same range as other coverings such as porcelain stoneware slabs, composite wood or exotic wood.
On what types of supports can the stone carpet be laid?
The supports most used as an underlay are the concrete slab, tiles or compacted gravel also commonly called Untreated Grave.
How is this coating (stone carpet) applied?
Le revêtement de sol en tapis de pierre se pose en 4 étapes, malgré sa rapidité de pose, il demande un savoir-faire technique.
- A first phase of preparation of the support will be essential to lay the coating.
- Once the support has been qualified and validated, the application of the primer will come. The adhesion primer is in epoxy resin, it is applied to the support, this primer aims to make the marble coating stick to the concrete slab.
- Then, the marble or quartz polyurethane resin is mixed with the mineral aggregates and then applied to the support. The coating is then adjusted and smoothed manually or using an electric trowel. It will follow the shapes of your pool without cutting compared to tiles or reconstituted or natural stone.
- Finally, an anti-slip finishing treatment is applied at the end of the work to guarantee the safety of everyone at the edge of the swimming pool. This finishing treatment is essential, in fact, the stone carpet floor covering has been the subject of standardized tests which classify it as a coating that limits slipperiness in PN18.
